Young privacy lawyers are about to have an association to call their own. Jonge Privacy Advocaten Nederland (JPAN), (‘Young Privacy Lawyers, Netherlands’) is being set up by associate Ilse Baijens of Ius Laboris member firm Bronsgeest Deur Advocaten and Kimberly Friesen, lawyer in the IP/TMS practice group at CMS. As the Netherlands lacks an association for young lawyers with a focus on privacy law, JPAN comes as a unique opportunity for practitioners with less than seven years of experience to share their knowledge.
During the year, lectures, meetings and drinks will be organised for participants to discuss privacy law and grow their network. As its first event, JPAN will host an informal talk featuring Sjoera Nas, senior advisor at Privacy Company, on 9 April at the Bar Bistro Belleami in Amsterdam. Please register by 1 April by sending an email to contact@jongeprivacyadvocaten.nl .
